چکیده

The terms coronary artery ectasia and aneurysm are used to describe aneurysmal dilation of arteries. Coronary aneurysms uncommon frequently incidental finding in patients advised Angiography for disease evaluation. Aneurysmal arteries is observed up 5% undergoing angiography usually a localised dilatation segment more than 1.5-fold compared with adjacent normal segments. Aneurysms associated vast group disorders, the evaluation characterization represent great diagnostic task clinical therapeutic implications. underlying etiology variable includes degenerative, congenital, inflammatory, infectious, toxic, traumatic causes. Causative factors include atherosclerosis, Takayasu arteritis, congenital Kawasaki (KD), percutaneous intervention. Due their poorly elucidated mechanisms, presentations, lack large scale outcome data on various treatment modalities, pose challenge managing clinician. Unlike aneurysms, seen association atherosclerosis or as compensatory mechanism those cases which proximal stenosis noted opposite artery; also some anomalies, such anomalous origin from pulmonary artery, result high-flow state, fistulas. natural history CAAs remains unclear; however, several recent studies have postulated molecular mechanisms CAAs, genome-wide revealed genetic predispositions CAA. Controversies persist regarding the. approach depends scenario, nowadays, noninvasive multidetector computed tomography possible. purpose this review summarize present knowledge collate advances epidemiology, etiology, pathophysiology, diagnosis, provide succinct disease, special emphasis challenges its interventional treatment.
